Safe Harbor International partnered with Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia (IBG) and Iglesia Fundamento Biblico (IFB) of the Dominican Republic, who together have formed IBG Haiti Fund (IBG HF) for the purposes of addressing the spiritual and physical needs of those most affected by the disaster. IBG HF has been working with the Haitian church for several years and through their relationships in Haiti, IBG HF are well-positioned to respond to the devastation through ministry, relief, and development. We were grateful to work with IBG HF, who is committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the development of the local Haitian church.

In addition to our field work with IBG HF, we are privileged to co-labor with our Project Midigo partner, Promise Child, a ministry of Calvary Chapel WestGrove, in constructing two wells including reservoirs, pump systems and additional materials so that the community of Caneille will have fresh, clean water. May Assessment and Outreach Trip
In May of 2010, a small assessment team was sent to Haiti and was provided with insight while on the ground to establish a future plan for ministry, development, training, and relief. During the fast-paced week, the team co-labored with our partners to build foundations for homes that were later constructed by IBG Haiti Fund. Where medical clinics were set up to care for several different orphanages in the area the Word of God was preached faithfully. Critical project assessments were made in several rural villages, while the Lord opened opportunities along the way for sports ministry and the gospel among the youth. Towards the end of the week, the team visited a community of 250 people in Petit Sabane of Grand Goave who had resettled in the hillside after the earthquake's destruction of their village. Their needs were great yet the team witnessed an astounding display of edifying, generous giving of all they had with each other as they reestablished their families.
SHI worked alongside partners on the ground: Dominican Republic Church leads, IBC and IFB; Grace Baptist Church Papillion; and Bethlehem Baptist Church. The SHI team was blessed by their commitment to Biblical-based outreach and their hearts to minister to both the spiritual and physical needs of the people.
Behold Your God Haiti 2010
In August of 2010 Safe Harbor International sent a team of 11 to Haiti for the purpose of spreading the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ. For 5 days the team visited orphanages, villages, and a tent city sharing testimonies and affection with the suffering people. The team was amazed to see our loving Father’s hand working in his people; and the fruit widely visible through the joy of the team as well as the Haitians. Each place that the team visited was left with donations of shoes, toys, snacks, coloring books, and other various gifts.
From one Behold Your God team member: "On the last night of our time in Haiti, we are all able to look back and say, God is so good! I know I speak for everyone on the team when I say it has been an incredible trip. We were able to visit numerous orphanages, a tent city, and a village to do missions and outreach which all poured forth a glorious time of sharing Christ's love and the Gospel."
